Mondly for Kids is only available on the Google Play or App Store, unlike the main Mondly platform, which you can access via your web browser.
Getting started with Mondly Kids is simple, but there are a few steps to keep in mind:
- 1. Open the Google Play or App Store on your device.
- 2. Search for “Kids Learn Languages by Mondly.”
- 3. Download and open the app.
- 4. Choose whether you want a free daily lesson.
- 5. Select your child’s native language (30+ options).
- 6. Pick the language your child wants to learn.
- 7. Choose the difficulty level: Preschool or School
- 8. Tap Start or opt to log in or sign up.
If you choose “Start,” a grownup needs to enter their year of birth. You can choose to learn for free but then a screen pops up where you can subscribe and access a 7-day free trial. Or, tap the “X” and you’ll be taken to the main learning menu.
You can access the Daily Lessons for free. And your child can also do the lessons in the Animal module for free.
But after every completed lesson, a “Learn faster with Premium” window pops up. If left unsupervised, it’s so easy for your child to tap on a subscription option, and you’ll have to foot the bill. #Ouch. Or they can easily tap the “Shop” button and subscribe there.
That’s not the most child-friendly design if you ask me.
