The free version gives you access to a handful of lessons in one language. Actually, you can only do the Hello stack of lessons, which at least lets you get a feel for the platform before committing to a paid subscription.
You can also test out the chatbot lesson and do the daily lessons. If you complete the whole week’s lesson, you can do a weekly quiz, and if you do all the lessons in a month, there’s the monthly challenge up for grabs.
I used the free version for quite a while before deciding to upgrade. But to be 100% honest, that was because I also use other language apps and resources.
However, the best features—250+ lessons and more—are only available on the paid plans.
If you’re looking to go beyond learning more than a few words or completely random topics via the daily lessons, upgrading is the way to go.

It costs US$9.99 per month, which, to be honest, is quite fairly priced considering everything that Mondly’s Premium subscription includes.
But since you can only learn one language, it’s better for quick language boosts.
The next options might save you some money if you’re looking to study your target language long term.
Yearly Plan:
If you’re committing to learning your target language, then this is the next best deal. At US$47.99 per year, it works out to approximately US$4 per month—a significant saving compared to the monthly option.
This is the plan I recommend if you’re planning to use Mondly regularly, as it’s easy on the wallet for what you get.

The Lifetime Access plan is what I went for during a Black Friday sale. It cost me €99 —equivalent to US$99.99. (Let’s just say that the plan costs 95% more when it’s not on discount, and that more than explains why I couldn’t resist the huge savings!)
The 99 euros was within my budget, especially considering I was getting access to all 41 languages for a lifetime, with no need to renew every year.
That’s right. No more renewals, no more monthly or yearly payments—just a one-time fee for unlimited access.
If you’re serious about learning multiple languages (like me!) or plan to use Mondly for years, the lifetime option is definitely the best value.

I like that I can easily buy multiple Premium accounts on Mondly since I’m not the only one in my family using the app. My son, Roman, is learning Russian and Spanish with Mondly. My little one uses the Mondly Kids app for fun.
I love that Roman can use it alongside me, and it’s a fantastic way to save money. The subscription allows each user to learn different languages, so while Roman focuses on Russian and Spanish, I can stick to my Portuguese, Turkish, Italian, and French lessons.
