Before I share how you can switch from one language to another on Babbel, it’s important to know three things:
As a kind of free trial, you can try out the first couple of lessons of every module in all the languages Babbel offers.
Unless you have a Lifetime Babbel Self-Study subscription, you can only completely learn the one target language you chose when you signed up.
For Babbel Live subscriptions, you can only do online individual and/or group classes (depending on the option you choose) in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

Using Your Browser to Changes Languages on Babbel
Follow these steps to switch between the languages on Babbel via your web browser:
- On the homepage of your current language course—mine’s Italian at the moment—find the country/language flag on the top right of your screen. It’s next to your profile icon.
2. Next, you’ll click on the drop down arrow next to the language or country flag.
3. You can choose which language you want to try out if you’ve subscribed to learn one language, or you can start learning your next lingo.
I decided to switch from my Italian course to the Business English course on Babbel.
If you want to switch to another language, repeat the process and choose another language from the dropdown list.

Using the Babbel Mobile App to Changes Languages
On the mobile app, which is available on the App Store and Google Play, you’ll follow the same steps—more or less. Honestly, it’s a bit more complicated.
Open the Babbel app on your smart device.
Log in if you have to.
On the home screen of your current language course, tap on the profile button (top right).
4. On the profile screen, you’ll tap on the settings icon (the gear icon) on the top left.
5. On the settings page, navigate to “My Languages.”
6. In “My Languages,” you can see what language you’re currently learning (mine’s Italian), the input language (mine’s set to German), and the language course you want to change to.
7. Here you can see that I tapped on Turkish, which is currently the language I’ll learn if I tap the back buttons to get to the course’s homepage.
I like this flexibility because it lets me easily switch languages based on my personal goals or travel plans. And I can do that whether I’m learning on the PC or my smart phone.
